My Holistic Healing Journey

Hello thank you for visiting my blog. I am so grateful to share my story with you.  

I would like to start my story on  how my holistic healing journey came in my life.  May 5, 2016 was the day I had a major surgery for ovarian tumor at Sunnybrook Health Centre. That same day I was diagnosed  for Ovarian Cancer Stage 3. I went home after 3 days from the hospital with 54 staples in my tummy and a prescription of different types of pain reliever. I suffered from pain, depression and sadness. I reach out for support and started joining an online cancer support group. I also met a lady through a phone call. She is a peer support volunteer match with me through Canadian Cancer Society. She's  Ovarian Cancer Survivor for 7 years that time. She calls me once a week to share her story and we had a great conversation and connection. She inspired me and encourage me to go out for a short walk. It`s helps me so much to feel better. After 4 week post surgery I started my chemotherapy treatment. Six cycles of treatment every 3 weeks. As expected every treatment the side effects are becoming more challenging to manage. Throughout my treatments and recovery I was able to help my self to find a quality of life.  Through attending Yoga classes, going for a Thai Yoga Massage, receiving Reiki Healing energy, attending Meditation, Sacred Circle Dance and support group. Sometimes there are days that almost nothing help me to ease my pain.  Full awareness and focus in my breath will save me on those hard days. Mindful breath practice helps me so much to stay in difficulty and eventually my suffering ends. Throughout my Chemotherapy treatment the holistic practices save me to survive along with a great support from my family, friends and community.

After my treatment my holistic healing journey continues. I practice  Yoga and Meditation, receiving Thai Yoga Massage and Reiki Energy Healing as well as a participating in wellness activities, support group and Sacred  Circle Dance. My recovery was successful and after a year I started my training for Thai Yoga Massage and get certified. I did six months yoga teacher training. Two months after I finished my yoga teacher training I did Level 1 and level 2 Reiki. My healing journey continues while I'm  in the training's and practice. The joy of sharing this holistic modalities are profound. It's pure joy and rewarding experience to help someones feels better and great and it feeds my soul.  My passion to learn more inspired me to take the drumming circle facilitator training, dance medicine program and different style of yoga. 

Here I am in deep gratitude equip with all of this amazing offerings to support anyone in their healing journey in a holistic way. "Your healing is my healing" as I always say to my students, clients and participants in my circle and community.

My first Sacred Circle Dance in Quebec

Another big part of my holistic healing journey is support. The sense of connection, belonging and unity from family, friends and community. The first time I joined a circle dance I immediately connected in the sacred space and community. I breathe peace, love and compassion in the infinite flowing beautiful healing energy in the circle. 

Since then I continue to attend the community circle dance in Bond Head. I attend circle dance camp in different places in Ontario 2 to 3 times a year.  I am blessed to be a part of the very first dance camp in Quebec last June 2017. 

My dance healing journey inspired me to lead dances in Newmarket and Aurora area. I combine my experience from Great Lakes Circle Dance and Dance Medicine Mentorship program. 

I used dance as a meditation it brings peace and joy in my heart. When I'm dancing I feel my breath like a soft wave in the ocean. The sensation of air is flowing into my body. Its refreshing, rejuvenating and re energizing. 

Community Circle Dance or Sacred Circle Dance are amazing self care practice. This practice is like a yoga dance to me. The breath connects to the heart, mind, body and spirit. This is perfect practice to enhance our body's natural abilities to heal.
